Ask A Black Chick Is Back (And I Need Your Help)

It has been over a year since the last time I posted on this blog and almost a year since my last podcast episode. Over this last year, I had to take a step back from everything around me. I started the year with a clouded head and uncertainty. As I talked about on some of the more recent episodes of the Ask a Black Chick Podcast, I made huge steps to change the way I approached my life including cutting out drinking alcohol, saving myself for the right person (physically), and applying to graduate school to pursue a masters in business. During my time away, I found a new job that I thought I enjoyed, I started dating a great man that I now love, and I was accepted into graduate school. Now that I am in 2019, things are not as bright and shiny as they’d started out to be at the top of 2018. The new job was absolutely awful (which I will talk more about on the podcast), graduate school is fucking hard (but we doing it), forging a successful relationship really isn’t easy either, and now that I am looking 30 square in the eye; it turns out that I have no clear idea of what path I want to commit to.

This month has brought a lot of sudden change for me and, with my 30th birthday literally a month away, I feel like it’s time to make some serious choices and stick to them. What life do I want to have? What career am I ready to commit to? Do I wanna have more babies? There are about 1000 open ended questions that it’s about time I sit down and figure the answers to. I’ve also realized that I am not the only old ass millennial that is going through this transformation. The hardest part of dealing with the corners of life that are unexpected, uncharted, and totally uncomfortable if feeling like you’re swimming in that sea alone.

Now that I’ve said all of that, here is what’s going to happen. I am back to writing, posting, podcasting, pitching, hustling and all of that. I have a lot in store for 2019, because I’ve kind of been forced to land on my feet here. With that being said, I will continue to write here on this blog about myself and topics that I think a lot of use newly 30 somethings can relate to. I will also be collaborating more this year on projects that are meaningful (do you want to collab? Email me info@askablackchick.com). The podcast will be back up and running with new weekly episodes starting the last week of March which I can’t wait for. I’ve missed it so much. If you have a question you want to submit to the podcast, you can do so here or send me an email (again, info@askablackchick.com). I am going to be sharing my life more on the podcast, what’s going on with me, what’s to come, and more. The podcast can be found on iTunes and Soundcloud for now.

How can you help? Well, just tell me what you want to read. Do you want to know more about me? Do you want to read products reviews and suggestions? Bring back natural hair posts? Current pop culture topics? Tell me what you want to read so I can deliver content you care about. Shoot me an email (once more, info@askablackchick.com) or submit it using the form at the end of this post.

I look forward to making a real return that I can stick to. I’ve missed this so much and it’s going to be better than ever.
