This Week’s Question
As a white ally and supporter of #BlackGirlMagic, I’m trying to educate myself as much as possible so here’s a question! How do black women feel about white people using the label “Black girl magic” to talk about the issues brought forward by the term and to celebrate black culture?
When is it OK and not OK for white people to use the term? Is it OK, for example, for me to talk about novels by black female authors and refer to them as “Black girl magic”?
