Now that I’ve cut my hair, styling it has become much more enjoyable. Somehow, even though I have less hair, I have more fun hair. With that being said, I decided to try my hand at finger coils. I have seen them before and just couldn’t imagine sitting for hours finger coiling all of that hair and risking not loving it. But, now that my hair is short, I figured why not!
So, I started on freshly washed and conditioned hair. I usually finger detangle but to make sure I removed all of the dead strands and knots, I used my Con Air brush to detangle in the shower with conditioner.

I parted the right side of my hair where the short hair meets the long hair. I started with about 1 inch width of hair, coated with a bit of olive oil, added a dip of Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and twirled the hair around my finger down to the end. I then started from the top of that same piece and rolled it between my palms in the same direction like you use to do as a child with play doh. I continued that all the way around my head.
To maintain it for about a week, I moisturized it with olive oil every morning and tied it up with a satin scarf.
I took about an hour to complete but was definitely worth it. Such an easy style to maintain and was a nice change of pace!
Cute!!!
