Mug Brownie Anyone?

Let me set the scene for you:
Its Sunday night and the rain pelting your tin roof (tin roof to add drama). Pitter patter pitter patter. After a hectic work week and a wild weekend, you just want to curl up in a warm fuzzy blanket and watch Steel Magnolias. The only thing that could possibly make your Sunday night-in any better is a warm chocolate delight. The only problem is that you haven’t gone grocery shopping in weeks which is evident by the Coco Crispies you’ve been eating for dinner. But you need something to go with the tears brought on by Steel Magnolias. Your solution is just a mug, a minute, and 5 very common (even among bare cabinets) ingredients away.

I found this recipe on the ever beloved Pinterest. It is incredibly easy and unbelievably delicious. As a matter of fact, it is so easy that I memorized the measurements and ingredients after making it once! That either proves that it’s super simple or the chocolate goodness embedded itself into my brain. Both are completely possible.
Here’s what you will need:
– All purpose flour
– Brown sugar
– Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
– Milk
– Oil
– Salt
Grab a microwavable mug preferably one with a handle. Measure out ¼ cup of flour and ¼ cup of brown sugar and throw it in the mug. Next add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, milk, and oil with a pinch of salt. This step is the most important! Mix very well. You want to make sure you stir together all of the ingredients well to ensure there isn’t a pocket of flour or sugar at the bottom. Now that your mix is looking scrumptious, pop it in the microwave. Since all microwaves cook at different speeds, start with 30 seconds and increase in 10 second intervals after each check. It should take about a minute. You want the top to feel springy yet firm to the touch. Once your mug brownie is complete, use an oven mitt to grab it since the mug handle is probably hot. You should eat it fairly soon after it is finished. The final and most essential step is to pop in Steel Magnolias, grab a warm blanket, and enjoy your chocolate delishshisness! Is that a word?

Side Note: You can eat the brownie batter as is or use it as a scrumptious dip since it doesn’t contain raw eggs!
