Honey and Vegetable Glycerin Deep Conditioning Mask

Hello my fellow divas. I would like to welcome you all to the wonderful world of humectants. If you don’t know what humectants are, you may be wondering what they are and why they matter to your natural hair. Well, humectants pull in moisture from their surroundings and retains it. They are often found in skin moisturizers and hair creams. For example, if you put a humectant on your hair, your natural curls will pull moisture from the air and remain moisturizer throughout the day. So say farewell to dry and rough curls! Next question, where do you find these humectants? HONEY & VEGETABLE GLYCERIN! These two are natural humectants that really bring in the moisture. When you combine these two, its ahhmazing. The moisture lasts all day and the curl definition is unlike anything I have gotten from anything else. Here is the recipe:

1/4 cups honey

1/4 cups Vegetable glycerin

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and set aside. Co-wash your hair and detangle with a wide tooth comb. Section your hair off into four sections. Work the honey mixture through each section. Cover your head with a shower cap for about 30 mins. Rinse your hair out with a small amount of conditioner. And don’t worry, the honey will not get tangled in your hair and it will not be sticky at all! I promise.
